Expert Garden Tool Reviews & Advice for UK Gardeners
There’s a particular kind of dread that sets in around April, when the grass starts growing faster than you can keep up with it and your old push mower suddenly feels like it weighs as much as a small car. If that sounds familiar, a self-propelled lawn mower might be the single best upgrade you … Read more
Stand in any UK garden centre car park on a Saturday morning and you’ll spot the divide instantly: one shed owner is hauling out a clattering old cylinder mower with a satisfied grin, while their neighbour is untangling forty metres of orange extension cable before they’ve cut a single blade of grass. A push lawn mower is a fuel-free, motorless mower you move by hand, using either a spinning cylinder of blades (a reel mower) or, less commonly, an unpowered rotary blade, to cut grass through simple mechanical motion.
